Turkey Napkin Holder Thanksgiving Craft
In our house, we love napkin holders and place cards. We try to make one or the other (or both!) for every single holiday. The best part about this napkin holder turkey craft for kids is that the napkin itself becomes part of the turkey, once you put it in the holder. It adds a certain elegance to a Thanksgiving craft that could otherwise be a little boring.
You’ll need a toilet paper roll for each person at the dinner table, although you can also roll up a piece of poster board in a pinch for this Thanksgiving craft. Let kids decorate the toilet roll or poster tube. Now cut out a head and wings from brown or orange poster board or colored paper. Cut out a beak and feet from yellow poster board or paper, and a wattle from red. Glue all of these pieces in place on the toilet paper roll or poster tube. Glue on wiggle eyes and this turkey craft for kids is almost done. If you want your napkin holders to double as place cards, simply write the guests’ names on the front of the Thanksgiving crafts.
Now your turkey craft is almost done. To create a feathered tail, fold up a napkin into an accordion and insert into the napkin holder. This will look best if you use a linen napkin in a fall color like orange or brown, but paper napkins work just as well to finish off this craft for kids. Put the turkey napkin holders at place settings to make your table more festive.
I don’t know about you, but I’m thankful for adorable but simple crafts to do at home with my kids!
