Back to School Craft – My Profile Poster

First Day of School My Profile Poster

Can you believe it is already time for back-to-school? With so many things to accomplish in the first week of your new class, it can be overwhelming to know where to begin. A great way for the students and teachers to get to know each other is with the My Profile project, perfect for grades 1-3. With it, each student gets a chance to introduce themselves and learn more about each other in the process!

Start out by explaining the poster to your students. They will all be so excited to share information about themselves. Each student will get a person shape, wiggle eyes and colorful paper with which to create a mini-version of themselves and markers or crayons to draw and write in the other boxes.

As they shape themselves and list who they are and what their favorite things are, they are able to set themselves apart from other students and also see all that they have in common! Students can practice good handwriting while creating the art and coloring themselves. This poster provides great structure to speak about computer skills as well, since it comes in the shape of a computer screen. Here, they can create their own “profile” while socially networking with their new classmates in person, and have a great time doing it.

No matter what you decide to do to welcome your students, you will find more back-to-school craft ideas here on our   kids craft blog.
